Good Morning Gorgeous Girl
Let’s face it, those of us that are fans of Dr. Janie Simmons are always making ourselves more gorgeous with her help and we don’t apologize for that, why would we?
When I hop in the shower to get ready in the morning I always used to say “I’m off to Get Gorgeous”. However as a life coach and self proclaimed joy mentor, every day I seem to notice more and more distinctions. So now, I’ve changed it up and even in my no make-up, hair a mess morning state I say “I’m off to get EVEN MORE Gorgeous”.
Trinity Aesthetics & Laser’s tag line is “Beautiful skin is a Choice”. The truth is, how we live our life is a choice, our happiness is a choice and “Being Gorgeous from the inside out” is a choice… a choice that starts way before we put our makeup on in the morning. Being Gorgeous is that commitment to be the best version of ourselves every day, it’s the inner peace that allows us to be SURE we are guided, protected and ultimately everything will be ok. It’s the self-esteem that knows our worth and the gift we are to the world. It’s being thoughtful and striving to be the kind of person who lights up the world by somehow touching it in positive way.
Do you ever look at another woman who exquisitely radiates beauty and joy and think “I want that”. Perhaps a more assertive reaction would be “How do I get that?” If you’re not there yet, or not consistently (and who is?) just know that we are all gorgeous works in progress.
The challenge is that sometimes we have this dreadful, negative voice inside ourselves, you know her, she talks rubbish to you in the mirror noticing all your flaws. She’s that horrid girl, the one who says “Who do you think you are?” or “What will people think?” …..and then there is the most damaging of all “You’re not good enough”. Well when you are gorgeous on the inside you just don’t care what people think because you’re clear that you are beautiful, worthy and most certainly good enough!
Self Help authors and coaches call that voice within us by different names. The negative one is often called “The Ugly Stepsister”, “The Inner Critic” or “Cruella Da Ville”…….you must fire her! If she starts to rear her ugly head making comments, just acknowledge her, thank her for coming, express that you do not agree with her opinion and politely ask her to leave. ”Cheerio, be off with you and don’t come back please”. Yes, I mean literally! If you are looking in the mirror and she starts off with her critical remarks, stare right back at her and do this process, you will be amazed at how it will change things…..and it may even make you start your day off with a giggle.
However we also have another voice, the one we need to cultivate. For years I have called mine Grace, she is my “Inner Goddess”…..yup that EL James stole my name in 50 SHADES. SARK calls it her “The Inner Wise Self”, Oprah calls it “Intuition”, and some people (including me sometimes) call it our Guardian Angel. You see she’s the girl who can truly shift your life; she’s the one you need to fall in love with, to trust, to nurture. Name Her, Love Her, Cherish Her as though your life depended on it…...it does!
If we committed to consciously look for ways to Get Gorgeous from the inside, we would match the outside that Trinity creates for us. It may mean reading something inspiring before going to bed, keeping a gratitude journal (my favorite), getting up early and taking an extra 20 minutes to meditate, thinking up ways to make someone smile, sending a text to tell someone you miss them, writing a lovely comment on someone’s Facebook page. There are so many ways besides the physical ablutions bit to get yourself gorgeous in the morning.
If you are not there YET, just take a few steps on the journey, do little things every day, beginning by telling that other unpleasant girl in your head to hit the road, and eventually you will get there.
When you finally meet your inner Goddess and nurture your relationship with her, your life will overflow with fulfillment and joy. And on top of that, the wonderful things they do for you at Trinity Aesthetics & Laser will quadruple in value because you will be shining from the inside out.
And next time you look in the mirror simply say “Hello Gorgeous”
